Has anyone got one? What do you think? What's the difference between the different ones?

I've been looking at the balance ones and just wanted opinions. I have quite small hands and so like a thin handle.

Any opinions appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

I have just bought one for my rather lazy / laid back chap who is trying to ignore my leg/seat aids at the moment.

My instructor pointed out I was 'white noise' on him, i.e. nagging with my leg, trying to push him on too much with my seat etc. So I had to practice the 2 second rule, leg on, count 2 seconds, if no reaction, leg on again but a tap tap tap with my schooling whip, reaction, leg off, stop tapping.

However, my cheapy dressage whip was not making the desired tap (useless balance in my hand and just bending off his body) so I invested in a Fleck as it was more robust.

Seems to be working, but I did 'gulp' at the £25 price tag.

The cheapest ones (between 8 and 15 quid depending on the shop) are imo light and well balanced, flexible enough to touch the horse without moving your hand and the handle is comfortable. What's not to like? :D

Love my Fleck. I have 4 I think.

I like that no matter what type handle you get, or what "flappy end bit" they are all very well balanced. I also like that you can get them in different lengths (I use a 130cm one when riding B, and a 110cm one riding T, unless doing lots of lateral work and I'll also use a 120 or 130cm one with T).

They also come in all kinds of snazzy colours :)

But I think I paid between 35 and 50€ each for mine :o

I love them and also have quite small hands and often use a double bridle and it fits neatly. Plus they provide the flicky effect with minimal effort ;-). Love that they are so flexible and bouncy.
