I am looking for a fleece with a neck. It needs to be good quality but I cant afford Thermatex.

The cheap Requisite one I got went so baggy it cant be left on him unattended because the neck slips and the rug slips and its a mess!

I want to keep his neck warm without bulk. He is a hot horse and only had one clip early on in the year (due to being off work) so it doesnt need to be super warm.
 
I was lucky enough to win a Masta cooler with neck. Not as thick as a thermatex, but looks really smart, and seems to stay in place. Great addition to my horses wardrobe. Think they retail around the £35 mark. Good value for money:)
 
I only have the standard neck but wouldn't use anything other than the weatherbeeta fleeces because they have satin around the neck and shoulders which keeps the rugs shape and prevents it slipping back.
 
I have both a weatherbeeta and a masta - and the weatherbeeta is miles better. Kept its shape well and the velcro bits lasted - the masta one tore after a year or so.
 
I was just looking for a replacement one of these this morning as they are so versatile and my 'good' one suffered a slight tear from an unruly youngster.

I found one from Goyt Mill Saddlery (online) for just £22.50, provided you pick one of the sale colours. I couldn't believe my luck as was just about to pay £35 for one from Equestrian Clearance.

I love the shape of the weatherbeeta ones, I have 2 standard neck and one combo already and use them for travelling and drying off. I'm sure Thermatex rugs are all that but for this price I know what I'm sticking with!

Got all excited and then they don't have Lyla's size :( oh well! :D
 
I think I will get Weetherbeeta - but notice that the combo doesnt seem to have nylon on the outside round the neck like the standard neck does. Hope it will stay in shape OK.

Now to find the cheapest! I did try Goyt Mill but must have missed the sale ones
 
Pretty good but its plus VAT plus and postage so is £37....... was going to have the blue/ash one. Might keep looking a bit longer before I order, I need a 6ft9 - lots of places have the smaller sizes in sales
 
I just bought the 6ft 9 - I can't find it cheaper than there with postage TBH - most charge 6.95 for rug postage and there's is £4.99.
Prequestrian - the best Weatherbeeta eBay seller IMO - are £36.99 plus £4.95 = £41.94 in total.
