So I am wearing a fleece in what’s called winter white you can’t see Sky’s hairs but it’s very grimy and I only put it on this morning .
You can’t win .

Fleece the colour of the horse? I think that's cheating. ?

When I ride my old mare I literally have white hairs floating along with me! There seem to have been more layers of coat this year than previously, I brush it off her and end up wearing it myself.

Actually I thought this was going to be about the static shocks I always get at this time of year

Now this is all well and good if your animals are solid colours, I've a skewbald spanner, a tricolour hound, and black and white horses ?
Brown marl and black marl. Sorted.

my farrier left looking like a yeti after doing Peggy’s feet. I often eat her hair with my breakfast after a change of clothes. Honestly this has been the worst year yet! She’s been rugged all winter!! How is there so much? When will it stop! It’s been continuous brushing for a month!

and now the other 2 have started!! ? thank goodness their coat isn’t 2” long as well!

Looks like mine did today! Everything is covered in white hairs at the moment… don’t know how I’m ever going to get them all off his saddle cloth!

I made the same mistake today, and I really know better. If you looked in the field you would think I clipped them both with the amount that came out. Even after repeated hoovering the fleece is still not clean enough to come in the house.

2" is nothing, I've got two mostly white, hairy cobs that haven't been rugged all winter. I think I've got more like 4" (x 2), plus masses of tail and long mane hair that's all falling out too.

My usual moulting time jacket is a softshell top that I've had for years. Everything just brushes off- job done. BUT this year it seems to have some sort of static connection and everything is clinging on and will not shift, if I try brushing or picking hairs off, they immediately reattach. o_O

Can't remember the last time I braved a fleece, after throwing my favourite one due to being unrescuable. I layer up sports shirts as needed and over the years now find anything else too bulky. Saddle cloths are another sadness at this time.

I can remember my daughter, years ago, pointing out a person on the yard and saying 'you can always tell the new girl!' I asked her how she could tell, and she simply looked at me and said 'she's clean!'
Our hairy cobs are throwing their coats off like there is a heatwave due. The paddock looks like a snowstorm.
