Fleeing horses seized in Staffordshire

About time this action was taken. It should be taken in numerous other incidents around the country as well. People at our yard had to round up a stallion, a couple of mares & a foal that had escaped a couple of weeks ago.

Let's hope if someone comes forward they won't just be prosecuted but will have the cost of the seizure operation, which will have been hundreds of pounds levied against them as well!

Well we know that won't happen!

Soemone will come along and claim them. They will get a slap on the wrist, perhaps a fine (within their means of course) and be told to get some decent fencing in place.

And the whole thing will begin again!

I cannot beleive it was allowed to go on for so long.
It can be difficult but help is needed from horse welfare societies.
We have taken a seriel escape artist in twice for the council/police. The first time the owner played poverty/upset/someone letting them out. The second time she was fined, if i take it in a third time i have told the person personally she will not be haveing it back as it is a seroius welfare issue.
We have two Stallions which were caught wandering 1 year ago.
If adequate fencing/grazeing cannot be offered for the horse it should not be returned is my belief.
Florin got run over - through fright - it is a horrendous experience for all concerned. She got up from under a Volvo and ran off. The Volvo was a right off.
It takes Police/Council/Welfare organisation to take a tough stance.
