I am considering investing in Flex on stirrups whilst all the reviews seem great can anyone advise if they have the safe on ones that release? I can't seem to find many reviews and whilst I prefer a stirrup that doesn't catch my foot as my horse frequently tests this theory I don't want to be riding xcountry and have the stirrup release accidently either. TIA

Not sure if helpful but I purchased a set of junior flex on safe on stirrups for my kids. Unfortunately pony had a wobble, tried to get my friends daughter off and she ended up being dragged around the school with one foot stuck in the unreleased stirrup. She was within the weight range of the stirrups but it didn’t let go. Luckily she hadn’t done her riding boot up so her foot eventually came out of her shoe! She was shacken up but luckily unharmed.
I very swiftly returned said stirrups and purchased some acavallo arena ones. They flick open with little force and we have never had a problem with them. Even safe for my tiny 6 year old!
i contacted flex on who were not at all interested that their product had not done what it was supposed to do!

OMG thank god she wasn't hurt that's terrible customer service from flex on . Not much point in having a safety stirrup of it doesn't release when needed ?

I had toyed with getting flex ons but decided against it. Those spikes are quite 'spikey' and I feel even with the Safe Ons, your foot could become really quite stuck (caught on the spikes). So I have the Acavello Alupro which are jagged for grip rather than spikey.

Thanks for the heads up OP, that must have been so scary to witness.
