so... my new horsey came with a rubber jointed full cheek snaffle. which he had chewed almost all the rubber off - which i thought would be uncomfortable for him... so i tried him in my spare loose ring french link snaffle out of curiosity. he seemed to hate the metal in his mouth. i thought he might prefer the thinner bit piece as he's got a fat tongue that oozes out of his mouth...
so i went to the tack shop, with the intention of buying a new rubber jointed full cheek.. but, hanging next to it was the happy mouth version which looked far less chunky and chewable. so i had a ponder and decided to get one... but they didn't have any in stock in his size.
but... next to that bit was the flexi mullen full cheek... which i am now considering. it seems much slimmer in the mouth than the rubber one...
can anyone shed any light on what they're like...? i presume they are fairly mild? is the non-jointed action kinder or harsher than the jointed one? do horses tend to like them?
so many questions, as i have no clue...
