A lady at our yard has a very naughty , strong cob who carts her off all over the place and the local tack shop has sold her a pair of flexi reins , is this what they are for , and if so how do they work ? , just wondering because sometimes Toto gets a bit strong XC and I wondered if they would help ??

Not as far as I was aware. As far as I know they are more in a schooling situation (be it jumping or flat work) to give a more consitant contact and so you can 'bounce' the horse into the rein. I may be wrong of course

I have just looked at their advert and they claim it will largely eliminate problems such as pulling.
It also says "Flexi-rein has two adjustments the first for general schooling/hacking the second for stronger horses or fast work".
So maybe it may work on the cob, I personally wouldn't use them for jumping.

ETA: apparently they are BSJA approved...
