I used them on my horse because she would tank off if I gave her some rein but as she was a baby I didn't want to keep pulling on her mouth. They worked well and I went back to normal reins, then about 6 months later she went through a stage of being very heavy in the hand, pulling and generally being an arse. I put them back on and as there was extra give in them there was nothing for her to fight against so she started working nicely again

They didn't work on YOs horse however, so not sure if they dont work with every horse or with every rider - not sure which

i have a pair and occasionally use them on my 5yro who can be a little wooden through the poll- she goes nicely in them but i only use them sporadically as i don't want her to depend on them.

i also put them on my older horse when my mum hacks him out- not because he needs them but because it stops the tension/nerves she is feeling from travelling down the reins to his mouth and when she nervously grabs the rein, he is unaware!
