There seems to have been a lot of threads recently about what stirrups people use so to avoid revision I've been looking at all the different stirrups available.

Does anybody use the flexi stirrups and would you recommend them?
Have you noticed a difference in your leg position/comfort and do you feel "safe" in them?

Thanks in advance :)

quite like them for hacking but not schooling - they tend to 'give' ie wobble as you canter around corners, it's quite unsettling. or maybe it's just me...

Yes, brilliant, and no wobbling. I don't think they affect the way I ride at all, they are just stirrups. I wouldn't be able to ride without them as I have bad knees, even though they don't flex much, they make the difference between getting off in agony at the end of a ride and being able to just jump off comfortably.
I've got these: http://www.bitlessbridle.co.uk/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=59

I love mine used to get sore ankle and knee joints .Since chaging to flxi stirrups doesn't hurt at all.
Don't wobble - well no more than if using normal ones.

I love my sprengers - don't know why I didn't change sooner :D
I have odd legs so usually feel strain up one of my ankles, especially at jumping length, but don't get this in my sprengers - worth the money

Id never used them before & then i started having lessons at our local riding school & they had them, i couldnt believe the difference it made, i used to get really really painful ankles & knees but not a thing using these. Needless to say i now have my own pair, thanks to my lovely BF who bought them for me for my birthday :)

I have flexi stirrups and also love them. As others said, knee pain is reduced or nonexistent depending on length of ride and terrain, with others I feel quite a bit of jarring.

My daughter competes BS at a reasonable level & uses them, she loves them. Her's aren't the expensive Sprenger ones though, I think hers, at the time she got them, were around the £20-£25 mark.

I have actually seen a pro rider competing in them & half way round the course the stirrup gave way. The hinged part snapped & he had a fence & cost him a placing. I suppose there can be faults with anything you buy but we've had no problems with ours.

I used to get pain in one knee but now with ( cheap and cheerful - castle make i think ) flexi stirrups my knee is perfect. Although I have taught the irish one to walk back round to the mounting block so i get off on to it , as opposed to jumping down onto concrete!!

I have Sprengers and loooove them!!

I bought them after a knee op to hopefully help with the strain on my joints and just love them- wish I could buy them for my dressage as well!

They are well worth the money!! :)

i have slightly dodgy knees and ankles sometimes if i ride for a long time in regular stirrups but it's generally not a problem unless i ride for more than an hour. i've only hacked out in flexi stirrups and actually found they made my ankles hurt even more and more quickly. but i do get very painful ankles very quickly when riding at jumping length (with normal stirrups) so maybe i ought to give them a try too

i cant ride in any other :) normal stirrups really hurt my ankles and knees but they are fine with my flexi stirrups would never go back :)

Had sprengers for a fair few years now, and have to say if i'm riding something with out them, i suddenly remember just as i'm about to jump off coz it's gonna hurt (knees) and i'm not old 40yy and dont have knee or ankle probs.

love, love, love, de'm flexi stirrups :p

I use them and think they are amazing...have a lot of ankle pain due to breaking it and it has pins in it which can make it very uncomfortable and somehow they relieve this pain whilst schooling, however...i broke the same leg last year whilst using them xc, my horse slipped whilst turning between jumps and personally i think the stirrups gave too much which meant my ankle pushed too far down and the leg bone effectively snapped! wasnt a major break and i may be wrong but i havent jumped in them since, this is more superstition i think! but just thought would let people know incase...but still am incapable of riding without them when schooling! :D

I felt they were a little 'bouncy' when I first used them but will not wear anything else for hacking and jumping. But don't use them for dressage
