After suffering knee and ankle pain every time I jumped it was suggested I get myself a pair of these!

Now I can be a bit of a scrooge when it comes to spending money - I think some brands are so over prices so I swithered between the £50 Thorowgood ones and the cheap £20 Castle ones - I ended up opting for the cheaper option despite some people claiming they were not as effective and would cause my feet to swing.

Tried them for the first time on Saturday and they were fab- the treads are really good and actually had much better grip than my Stubbens without pinning my foot to the stirrup!

For the first time ever I wasn't in agony after riding at XC length which I'm delighted with as I had at one point considered the possibility that due the pain I was always in after riding with short stirrups I'd just have to give up jumping!

So if anyone suffers similar problems I can highly recommend these! Wish I'd bought them years ago!

i know! they are fab! :)

I got them as ive knackered my knee running, and it was causing me problems when riding, soon as i got the bendy ones i had soooo much less pain

Yep, I wouldn't be without my flexi stirrups. Really notice the difference if I ride someone else's horse who hasn't got these on their saddle now.

Yes Posie_Honey - thanks for the suggestion!

Glad they work for others too - wondering if I should try them on my dressage saddle too as I'd only planned to use them for hacking/jumping etc.

oh btw - i've used sprenger ones in US and cheapie here and never felt the difference...

re: for dressage - i use normal ones on my dressage saddle - as i use it for showing too - and tbh i don't get knee pain then - prob as my stirrups are far longer....

You have just inspired me to order some!!:)
I always thought they were mega expensive (as some makes are) and didn't realise I could get a pair for just over £20! So I've ordered some cheap ones from Ebay!:D
I can't wait until they arrive!:D

Sounds like the same ones I got! :D

Another fan here!!!! I injured all the tendons and ligaments in both my ankles in a skiing accident about 12 years ago. I used to be in tears with short stirrups as it would hurt so much. Now with the flexi stirrups I am much better, they can still be painful if I am doing alot of work in the light seat, but no where near as bad as they used to be!!!!!
