Hey all, hope everyone is enjoying the sun:)

Brother now has his own horse so his thorogood flexi stirrups and cages are moving onto his saddle so I need to get myself some flexi stirrups of my own.

Now I know Sprenger are the best but I really can't afford them, the thorogood ones are about 7 years old and cost roughly £60 when I got them.

I don't jump, or if I do it will be about half a centimetre off the ground!:D:o:cool:

so its hacking and schooling, which ones do you lovely people recommend as I am crippled in normal irons.

thankies.

Hiya, sorry to hop on and hijack your thread. I get numb ankles / balls of feet sometimes when I ride. Do these stirrups eliminate that kind of thing? Goes back to my 'the world moved on when I wasn't looking' thread of last week. I'm guessing they work if you want some more? :D

I really like them. Doesn't totally save you if you're going v short, but def comfortable. I use the sprenger ones which have been brill. I did get a cheaper version but they haven't lasted nearly as well.

I'm suddenly very interested in this! I have bad knees, ankles and hips, I'm also forever losing my stirrups as I find it hard to lengthen my leg because of the above problems. Would they help me do you think? What is the appeal of them? Sorry, haven't heard of them till now :)

The Metalab ones have a 'air'cushion' built in to the tread, a bit like a Nike Air trainer, whih absorbs more concussion and bounce than a standard stirrup.

They also have the flexi sides which not only help you foot slip out in an emergency, but again make them more flexible.

On my cob the standard flexi stirrups for aorund £20 are all I need, but on my bigger moving/bouncy youngster, I feel my knees more, so is the one I use the Metalab ones.
