If a seller explain that the horse won’t pass a 5 Stage vetting due to the flexion test. But would pass a 3 Stage vetting. What questions should l be asking? I have been informed that it had a field accident and the owners by choice decided not to jump it anymore. The vet has given it the all clear. The accident was 18 months ago. I have been reading up on flexion. Much appreciated.

You need to ask a vet who sees how the flexion is failed. There are failures I would buy and failures I wouldn't.

This is my answer from your first thread. You replied that you would ask how the flexion was failed. This isn't good enough, you need to get a vet to do the flexion and for the vet to see with their own eyes how bad it is and advise you whether it is safe to buy for what you want to do.

as i said on the other post, you need to get a vetting done by your own vet to get his/her judgement on the flexion test otherwise you are taking a chance that the info you have been given is not right..

Before you do your own vetting, make sure you know exactly which leg the seller says was injured (and get its medical history too). If the left fore was injured, for example, then you know to take a step back if only the right hind fails the flexion.
