Flies???

My friend's horse has recently had runny eyes. Sometimes just one but sometimes both and under his slightly swollen. He is in a field with 2 others and they both have it too. It seems to be when the sun is out so my friend thinks it's to do with the flies - anyone else got any ideas about it?

Id say get them masks to protect them from the flies if this doesnt work then maybe pollen allergy. I personally would say its strange for all of them to have the allergy so id say your best bet it to get masks first.

Could be conjunctivitis from dust/pollen, etc blowing in the wind.
Eyes are tricky things, though - he could easily be developing something worse i.e. ulcers or uveitis...so it would be a good idea to have the eyes checked out by a vet.
