Flies

Are they really bad for anyone else at the moment?

Yes I don’t think I’ve ever known them this bad. Nothing seems to be keeping them at bay either. My gelding even had maggots in his sheath the other day from them and my mare now has no feathers as she had mites which caused a scab and the flies laid their eggs there too ?

They are awful. fly mask and spray but are still dreadful

We’re at a new yard so I don’t know if it’s just the area, but there are loads of what look like ordinary blue bottle/black flies. Not horse flies. Got loads in our garden too. And we had maggots in the bin ?. Yuuuuuuuuuuuk.

Thats what these flies are, not horse flies. They are driving me mad!

They seemed to have got a bit better since all the rain but before that they were awful, we had maggots in the bin and on our apples that had fallen off the tree yuk!

We have none. Another one to remind myself of when I get cross about the wind when you live on top of a hill.
