We all wish flies would buzz off, downside of having horses in the summer.Fly hoods are dangerous so use a fringe instead and the usual useless repellents,thats all you can do and look forwards to winter.
In what way are fly hoods dangerous? I have used them for ever and not had an issue? One of mine wears one day and night all summer - without it he gets conjunctivitis horribly.

Indeed...

I regularly ride a horse who is so sensitive to light that he wears a mask all year round when out in the arena.
