So when I got there with Jules (lilbon) he was quite nervous and anxious, we bought him out and he had the squits (nerves) I did clean it up Cathy!!! W spent about 2 hours pottering around him, generally making a fuss and making him feel that it was ok to be him (without knowing him before its hard for people to tell how inverted he has become)
after an hour or so, he was starting to play, and pushed Jules (a habit he had and I used to tell him off but he would look at me and say "so what!") when she moved back he flung his head up and waved it around sily and blinking like I was going to wack him.
He started to really be Flint by the end of it all and it was amazing to see him shine a little. When we went to leave he became quite needy, sqealing and pacing but as soon as I went back he was fine. I think he just doesnt know whats going to happen but HUGE thumbs up to Cathy and Claire for offering him stabilty and routine, with out them he wouldnt be making any progress. We finally had to throw polos in and run!! Here are some pics and one from the advert that David took a WEEK before we sold him.

ETC: Just had another look at the photo's, and he dosnt look like the same horse. It just makes you so mad, espec when you consider the bullshit she came out with too.

Thank God he is back where he belongs. x

He's lost so much weight and muscle it's terrible

I'm sure you'll have him looking like the last picture again in no time though! Glad he was starting to behave like his old self again too. Don't worry, he'll be back to his normal cheeky self soon. The bit about throwing the polos and running made me laugh though

Crikey... think I have missed a chunk of something here...... why the hell is he so skinny??? Didnt the person feed him or something???

God, No wonder you wanted to get him back, he is stunning in that last pic.... in the others he is all ribs and withers and his neck seems to have been stolen!!!

Good luck with his rehabilitation.......

Aaaah, that made me smile!

Damn horses, why do we let them get under our skin so much?!
I think this is one of the nicest things to happen recently and I'm sure between you and The Carthorses, you'll soon have him back to his former self again.

I have a pony that I really ought to sell but it's stories like this that really make me nervous of letting them go.

You must have had a terrible shock when you first saw him and didn't you have to pay more than what you sold him for? Thats such an injustice. So glad you have him back and I am sure he will start to look good again really soon.

I did say he was thin .I was shocked when I took his rugs off yesterday. When Claire groomed him yesterday they were shooting in the woods and he pulled back broke the string and had no rug on .He rolled straight away and was black. He went out with a rug on this morning for an hour ,then was lunged and put back in but he hates being in alone .Claire groomed him and washed his tail but his legs were still wet so they would be dirty. It is a shame but just can't risk putting him out with mine .You can just see the sore on his left side by where your leg would be it is quite scabby.Sorry about the mud in the yard but I know most of you will understand at the moment and the yard is usually swept clean but Flint thinks it looks good with his hay on it.I am glad the photos do show how thin he is ,I think he looks terrible and he is so hungry.
Lets get some photos of you on him tomorrow and maybe at last we will meet.

WTF

Who in their right mind can say that that horse had been even the slightest looked after???
How long was he away Pete, a year? That is disgusting and I hope the person that rang and told her before that he was being disgussed on here, see's this and tells her again, because she needs to know that that is not how to look after a horse

On a lighter note, he is very lucky to be back in safe hands and will benefit greatly. I'm looking forward to seeing the progress and seeing him happy and healthy again.

Forgot to say, I can't decide who has the nicest eye's in the first picture?

Hi folks- sorry for late response- I am completly upset by his condition- the guilt of selling him had gone when he was on the lorry, but the guilt of letting someone treat him like this haunts me... someone wise said to me, how would I of felt if I had seen him like this and not be abe to do anything about it.
I sold Flint for £2.2k- with Jaguar tack, rugs, and everything- What I have been given isnt worth pennies- My jaguar bridle they have ripped and old rugs given to me. I dont care about that tbh, I am glad he is now back with me. I ended up with transport etc and all other things £4k for him. I dont want to be nasty on an open forum but what that bitch doesnt know is that my grand father would of payed her £10k should she of asked. PLEASE dont buy horses from her! I bought Flint back because I know him and love him, if people buy from her then she has a market to sell horses like him. This isnt just a buyer beware but a SELLER beware, If your in doubt EVER of selling your horse DONT!! Search other options, LISTEN to people. Some advice can be picked and recycled to be made for what its worth, in this case the people who told me were right. I think you all now that this lad means the world to me, and I HATE to go on about it, I dont ever think I have suffered from M.E (me syndrome) but I cant say enough about this. I think Flint was one more rear, one more buck from the meat man. I gave him a chance, then I let him down terribly, I just dont want people to feel saddened when they may have had an option. xxx

Poor lad, he obviously had a rough time of it while away

im sure he'll be back to himself soon tho, plenty of grub and attention.

i cannot believe they were asking so much for him in that condition

I asked Claire if I could post some pics and she said Its just mud!! LOL _ EVERYWHERE is like it! I cant thank you enough and I have a couple of presents for you, but what they are worth are not what you have done is worth to me (if that makes sense!)
OBE all the way!!!!! (I did sweep up!! I am a nicie like that lol)

Lou- He had been away for jus under 5 months!!

There is nothing I can do about her now, but just advise people.
TBH- I am glad her dumped her straight through a fence and she landed on her second gypsy head!
Did I say that? COURSE I did, I have never seen such a change in a horse in all my life!!

psssst- cathy- the story about Flint made my very ill grandfather laugh today!! the first time in yonks!!

As said before though, so glad you have him back now!

Pack it in ,I have cried enough because of work in the last couple of days and terribly sad tales on here .I don't know who you sold Flint to and probably don't know them but I know what I think of them.At least through this we all have more friends.

You'll have to take lots of photo's and show them to your gramps, then he'll be able to see just WHY you HAD to buy him back and just how good you are at looking after him.
smile.gif

I know he wasn't away from you long but it just goes to show that it doesn't take long to trash a horse, does it
frown.gif
And it'll probably take a darn sight longer to get him back to his previous condition

Why can't he get out,you can tell me tomorrow if you like.I can arrange wheel chair you know ,it is my job,yes I still have one but not there for a couple of days through the problems.
