Flip Flops and Hooves

I cringe at the thought, but this morning I did my morning routine in birkenstocks. I normally have spare footwear to change into in my car/ at the farm, but I've been house-sitting and so came to the realisation as I got to the tack room. I was very aware of where my feet were!!

Ooh, it makes me cringe! Although I do wear trainers, always have done. Did see a pic recently of a girl who's horse had trodden on the back of her ankle and degloved it...she was wearing trainers :/ I guess I'm pretty complacent having always had super chill ponies, bit naughty really.

Eta. I did feed in pink crocs this morning after rushing out without swapping shoes!

After having a accident while trotting a horse up last winter, which resulted in having the underneath of my toes stitched I wouldn’t deal with the horses without proper shoes on. The doctor at A and E reckoned my sturdy boots had saved my toes!! But I was very sore for a while with a very swollen foot.....

They don't mix
Never have
Never Will
Why oh why do folk do it?
Never going to happen to them is is now....
Well tell that to the lady whom was sent off to hospital when her horse stamped on her toe yesterday
Tell that to the girl who fell over her flip and did a definitive flop, and lost her horse on the way to the field.
Tell that to the gent who twisted his ankle when his horse spooked and he lost his footing.....

ah well lets wait for the claims to roll in as of course it will be the yard owner/land owner's fault now wont it ???

Same as those bloody silly little ballet pumps - pure stupidity around horses...
