Pony has a hot swollen shin. It's hard to photograph a black leg in the dark but you can just about see the lump down the front of his cannon bone. I am not impressed.

I think you must be right, he must think that after the ulcers, the stifle, the sacroiliac and the RER that I am getting complacent!

I don't understand how he'd get something like bucked shins, he's doing beggar all work, no concussion. I have no idea what's happened. Feeling quite deflated.

Until 14 months ago he was a very robust little chap. Physio thought he looked fine trotting up on the soft today. I am less convinced. I am going to keep icing and stressing til Monday and see how it is. He spent the day yarded but I can't box rest because of the RER so he'll need to go out if it's nothing too bad. Going to trot him on the road tomorrow as I had to work today.

Thanks! He really is a pest. My vet and I have discussed whether it could be bucked shins but of course it's not clear without x Ray's. We are going to keep icing it and monitoring with the thermal camera. Any changes for the worse and we will x Ray but given he doesn't seem lame (although was certainly uncomfortable on Saturday) and seems a very unlikely candidate for them we are holding fire.
