Archie has decided he much prefers swimming to walking, to the point he swims paralell to the beach as you walk and will take any toy you throw and put it in the lake. He's very hard on toys so most of the pet store neoprene type floating toys are destroyed in days. I've "borrowed" some of my OH's floating dummies for the gundogs for now but am interested to see what others use?

I've ordered a Kong one and some more floating dummies so far :)

Line? Hell no, I just make my brother get in the lake to retrieve them (Yes, really). Actually Archie if he "loses" them will swim around trying to find it and will eventually locate it with the aid of "guide" stones lobbed in the general direction of the toy to help him out. Infact, he keeps going even if you manage to hit him with a stone....oops?

Good job :) I err on the side of caution with toys after developing an an awful habit of hurling rope tugs up into the trees (I throw like a girl :p) where they get caught in branches and then have to shinny up after them while dog jumps around getting inconsolable because it is UP THERE and he CAN'T REACH.

Also managed to get the Air Kong run over last week because I gave it too much welly and threw it right out of the field onto the road and then had to squeal at him to platz before he jumped the fence after it :o oh well, at least I didn't cause a multiple pile up...

This is me too :o Madam spangle always liked to find sticks in the river, place them in precarious positions on the river bank and bark like a loony until I picked them up....or attempted to pick them up - I got soggy on several occasions :o :o
