I had a lovely wake up call this morning, to tell me that my stable yard had water running down the slope onto the main drive way. I drove stright to the yard to find every auto drinker in all 10 stables over flowing and running out the door ways and the two water tanks in the end stables had both had burst pipes, the two poor horses in those stables where just stood there with the water showering down onto them freezeing cold and had prob been like this most off the night. Big big clean up and all stables are now empty off bedding and rubber matting drying. Iv lost a lot off money in terms off bedding from the 10 stables and had a very long drive to find a shop open in Cornwall to stock up with enough bedding to re bed the whole lot. I could scream.
I HATE AUTO DRINKERS. water is now turned off and staying off. Good old water buckets is the way to go even if it will take longer. After this morning I don't care. Cleaning out liverys stables and paying to re bed their horses has broke me today :)

I had exactly this happen to Pickle, water drinker overflowing! poor thing looked so sad as water streamed out his stable. Although after a while I just mucked out while singing Take That- Flood I have to admit!

surprised they have still been working all this time. mine are on a circular route and have been frozen off weeks ago, did mamage to isolate them 3 weeks ago and drain the system down so no bursts! be ready for the next freeze! (jan/feb) drain them down and back to buckets... do yours have electic tracer tape on them being as they have worked til now?
