Just seen on the news the terrible floods down South. We are desperate !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! for rain, grass is all burnt off, not growing !!! Having to feed my winter hay on the field.

Going to try my rain dance again !!

we have had a fair bit of rain today (south) but not as south as cornwall where the floods are. get on down there with your water bowser ;-)

Didn't stretch as far as the south east, either - one measly shower this evening...my fields still look like a dustbowl...

I am sending you some water.......(wwwwwooooooooosssssccccchhhhhh) hope it reaches you OK lol

We have huge amounts of rain this afternoon and it's still raining, also had thunder and lightening at the yard this evening all the horses were doing their rain dance for sure!!!! :) :)

Yes we need the rain, but seriously I bought a hose and sprinkler back in the heatwave and since I bought it its done nothing but rain... I jinxed the sunshine :( :(

To say its been wet here today is an understatement. Drenched horses, humans and dogs is no fun when you are trying to move yards!
I've just seen some VERY wet photos of Bournemouth, and although we haven't had THAT much, we are only 30 mins drive away, so have had more than our fair share today.
Grass is 'just right' at the moment, don't need anymore rain, can do just fine with a few dry days now thanks.

Well, I'm not far from bournemouth and wet is not the word. My friend and I were stupid enough to go riding in it, and got back wet through to the core despite decent waterproofs.

Had to get my mare and foal in early as they were shivering, and my veteran is out in his winter rug :(

Poor people. Got friends down there. What a mess...

Moral - be careful what you wish for...

You really don't want the rain we had today!!!
The roads were bloody dangerous, huge bleddy puddles, water going right over the car when you drove through them.
One stable flooded, and the cart shed had a pool of water in it!
Poole and Bournemouth looked awfull!
The road outside my cottage looked like the banks of the river had spilt over it, it was just running in waves down the hill!!

Umm..nope! I'm in West Cornwall: we had a couple of showers here this morning, but then brilliant sunshine and 22 degrees this afternoon!

I know Dorset was affected worst as OH is there, and he said Bournemouth was terribly flooded.

We've had consistent but not heavy rain for the last few weeks - but lets face it, it always rains during the summer holidays :p . No floods here but we have so much grass! Fortunately OH was able to make excellent and more than abundant hay a few weeks ago but hasn't been able to make any silage. He is stressed right out because the grass (even though its organic) has gone over. That means he will have an abundance of quantity but not the quality for the cattle this winter.

However it is encouraging to see that horse hay is at a much more reasonable price this year :)
