Well I've been at Bramham all weekend, and still in England until later today as OH is at a course in Shropshire...

While we were away I had arranged for Flora my 6yo TB to stay with my trainer and to ride her in her first Intro on the 17th June. However he sugested taking her to a local unaff one first which was last Saturday. I thought this was a great idea (only negative being that I obviously wouldn't be there to see her).

Anyway I texts on Saturday evening to say how did she enjoy it, and got answer back to say that she must have enjoyed it she won her class. Well I was so excited...

Seemingly she was 2nd after dressage, clear SJ and clear XC. Now she had been to this venue schooling once before and gone well, but there were fences included such as another v spooky water jump (last year she was v suspicious of water), and also a coffin that she hadn't jumped before. Course was tough enough and had 3 water fences, plus the usual other stuff.

Didn't post before as I was waiting to see if the local photographers had been there, so when I looked today they had been, so have searched through and found a photo (hoping there will be another few when all the photos are on their website).

Sorry for long waffly post (as someone else said - it's hardly Bramham level, and I wasn't even there) but anyway, she's my baby, and it looks like she's growing up!!

A v happy Fiona
(but still keeping fingers crossed that the intro debut goes well on Sunday, and we haven't used up all our luck already)

Thanks!!

She was off for 3 months last summer with a bruised foot that took a long time to come right, so I think I just can't believe she is out and about again.

Also proves that she can do dressage if someone good rides her. Forgot to ask what mark she got, will be a nice surprise when I get home and can find out the rest of the details.

Oh well done Flora!! What a lovely surprise, although I image not being there was killing you, I bet you are really looking forward to Sunday.. You must be over the moon to have her up and running again..

What a cracking start!
I looked at loads of the pics and it was certainly a test for a baby, if you watch the sequence of three fences very few people manage to stay in balance with their horses for all three, the distances must have been tricky or the jump out of the water very difficult, as so few made it look easy!
I bet you can't wait to get competing her yourself..

Super news F

you must be delighted and full of excitement for sunday now.
All your hard work is paying off, now you can start enjoying more success at parties.

I am thrilled for you guys. Well done.

Thanks pet.
I was so excited to hear that she had been so good.
I am going now to search for more photos (only one half of the pics had been put up, so hoping the other half will be there by now).

Thanks HH
It was the biggest step out of the water (the smaller step out was on the left behind the riders in the phots) so possibly a lot of riders trotted through the water and didn't have anough impulsion to jump out tidily. I noticed quite a few dodgy ones when I was scrolling through looking for Flo's photos. In her class pro's on young horses filled four of the top six places, so I was glad I wasn't riding her. She had a confidence making round with an expert instead of muppet me on board.
