Currently very interested in a 2 year old Hanoverian gelding by Floriscount.

Has anyone had foals off him before?

Just looking for honest opinions on personality, trainability, gaits and all round wellness.

Thank you

Generally his offspring have very good temperaments and ridability plus they are doing well in dressage and performance tests in Germany so I doubt you would have any worries about his action. I saw him at a couple of presentations and he behaved very well. certainly would not be expecting any problems with his offspring and he is a stallion on the short list for using next year

He tends to let through a lot of his dam's character and temperament. We've had two on our farm so far one out of our Warkant-Hohenstein-Perser xx mare who sold to the US this one

And the other I purchased as a weanling she was out of a Lauries Crusador xx-Weltmeyer mare she too was a super filly and sold to the US. Here is footage I took this spring from a Floriscount progeny display at Vechta:

I think it is pretty indicative for his offspring I have so far seen come under saddle. I have my best mare in foal to him for 2015 (SPS by Don Bosco-Archipel-Perser xx) and another client's mare (SPS by Prince Thatch xx-Argentan). Did I mention I do like him?

In case you haven't seen any recent material here he is at Münster beginning of 2014

And again at Vechta in February

Hope your 2yo works out well for you :)

Thank you very much for your replies. I've read a lot on him (as well as other stallions!) but it's always nice to have an honest, unbiased opinion on him.

His current owner is going to send me some videos of him, so fingers crossed he's what I'm looking for!

I'll keep you posted :)

Just seen this on thread, and I wondered if anyone has a Floriscount under saddle, and what they are like? I'm looking for a talented but not silly, spooky horse and have seen a nice youngster buts its unbacked. Damline is a Donnerhall grandson

being unbacked would not worry me. the ones I have seen and ridden have been very comfortable and ridable but with talent as well. they are all different though and although the mare has the donnerhall in her she could also have some other genes that could give some silly moments and it also depends to a certain degree on how the horse has been bought up and handled. you need to take into consideration the horse thats in front of you and see if you feel it is going to be too sharp or spooky for you in the way it reacts in the stable and loose in the school
