Hi everyone
So my horses are having their flu jabs tomorrow, and was just wondering what peoples thoughts were on exercising afterwards?

I was always told not to work the horse till the next day, but, I have been told now by a vet that it is fine to exercise immediatly after the jab. A friend has then told me that their vet told them to wait 12 hours?

What do you all think?

Thanks to those that can help :)

I've always been recommended the next working day and that's what I would go with.
Even if you say 12 hours - say pony gets it at 9am - you still wouldn't be riding until 9pm so really, it would still be next day.

Even though my pony has never shown any reaction to having had his jabs at all I've always felt happier leaving it until the next day before riding him.

I hack my pony to the vets to have her jabs done, so she's exercised immediately afterwards. Vets never seem to have an issue with me hacking her home. Just tell me to make sure that she doesn't work hard enough to break up a sweat. Any excuse for her to walk home on a loose rein and shes a happy pony!
