Does your vet send them out? Ours used to but doesn't anymore.

Would you pay for someone to email/ text you to remind you there nearly due? (I'm thinking about 99p) when you pay you would send in the date the jabs are due, then you would be send an email 4 weeks before they were due, another 3 weeks before, 2 weeks before then an email and a text the week before.

Probably not, but that's only because I don't tend do forget (because they are due on boxing day!). I also have a wall calendar chart type thing that has all those sorts of things on.

I am sure lots of people would pay for it, though, judging by the amount on that thread yesterday who had forgotten their horse's jabs.

I think it's a good idea, but I don't think vets should charge. It's less than the cost of a stamped reminder and they more than make the money back off their call out charges!.

For all you HHOer's stuck in offices - I use this program to set reminders of things like that. It's awesome - never forget anything ever again!.

Carrie1983; how do you get your vet out on Boxing day?! lol

It was the thread yesterday that got me thinking, I was one who had forgotten! *hangs head in shame*

Yep our vets usually send them out, but if not rather than paying for a service i would just set the reminders on my mobile myself to remind me when they were due. xx

It's the 27th December, so I think that's actually the day after boxing day, isn't it?

We might have to bring them forward this year, though, because the new dobbin's previous owner let the jabs slip so we've got to start again.

Technically the jab is due the day before the previous year in order for it to be valid - so if it was Boxing Day last year, it would be Christmas Day this year!

My horses all used to be done at the beginning of September, and this year we have worked our way back to the last week in August.

Nope because google free e-mail reminders!!! there is plenty of companies that would do it free!

and no vets don't remind us anymore they suddenly stopped, ended up on a new course

My vet sends them out for both the horse and the dog always makes me smile as it comes addressed to the animal! Is the only time my horse or dog ever get mail so always know what it is! Shame the bills come addressed to me not them though! So in short no i wouldnt pay for it as i get it free.

My vet doesn't send reminders (bad experience when one didn't get to customer and they then sued for vet failing to remind them!)

I've only forgotten once in 16 years (learnt by my mistake) and tbh use my outlook and phone calndar to remind me so wouldn't pay for the service

My old vets used to sent out reminders, not sure about Liphook as have not been with them a year yet, hopefully they will as they sent me a lovely calender earlier on in the year!
No I won't pay for them. If no reminder arrives I will just put in my phone and my diary! Wouldn't forget them as it's far too expensive to start them again!
