Do you or don't you?
I have not flu jabbed for years, unless forced to for competiton reasons, for no other reason than the occasional flu outbreak at racing yards where ALL the horses must be vaccinated - so why did they get it?? (I always tetanus tho)
Just interested in the replies

We vaccinated all of ours - 2 of them because they were bought having already had it and just needed renewed and 2 of them we started from scratch.

if your horses are mixing with others eg competition horses ect then you in most cases have to have the flu and tet, if you choose not to have the flu jab then >> in my opinion your horses should not be mixing with any others at all!!!!! its an owners obligation to protect their horse and also that of others!!

But if that is the case don't you have to restart every time? Surely thats not so good for the horse?

Both for my girls. One is on a big yard with lots of coming and going so lots of chances for her to come into contact with unknown horses. Other on our own small yard but still dont take the chance as they do hack out and come into contact with others. It only costs around £6 or £7 extra for flu and tet rather than just tet from our vets so i cant justify not doing both.
