It’s been almost a year since I last posted on here and a lot has happened!!
I’ll start with Fluffy......
The scruffy, naughty little 11.2 ball of Fluff has turned out to be just perfect! I got a new job last Jan ( which I’ll come too later!!!) which has meant I could move Fluffy to the yard I now work at. He’s turned a corner and my daughters riding has came on immensely! Ellie is 5 now, almost 6, and can confidently hack off lead in walk, trot and canter!!! It turns out that he just a loves to hack and having the yards ponies at my disposal occasionally has meant we can ride out together and have some great fun. Fluff is so genuine and will just bob along following what I’m riding and generally being amazing. Ellie has been taking part in group lessons at the yard on Fluffy with their riding school ponies. This seemed to take a while to get used to as he likes to fly round the arena at 100mph overtaking everything in sight! He also took part in his first camp with Ellie and was fantastic, even getting over some little jumps without issue!

Now, to my exciting news.....

I got a job as work rider on a local eventing yard!! I couldn’t be happier, seeing as things went downhill with my old boss as mentioned in previous posts. My new boss is fantastic and trusts me with all her horses, which is nice to know after having had 2 years of being told that I don’t know what I’m doing and shouldn’t be around horses!
The yard has 6 eventers currently ranging from babies up to novice/intermediate and boy are they characters! Not one of them is an easy ride but I have learnt so much from them.
Things quickly progressed to me being left in sole charge of everything, sole groom at competitions, helping with the riding school side of things, livery duties and taking groups of treks out in the summer.
To be trusted by my boss, who I think is an amazing rider and has worked for and trained with some really big names, has made all the rubbish I had to go through with my previous boss and her family seem insignificant! To be told that I’m doing a good job is such a nice feeling! The horses have done fantastic this season, coming home with plenty of ribbons! I’ve made some great friends this year and have had some pretty hairy moments with this crazy bunch of horses but I’m really enjoying it and looking forward to the next season!

This year has taught me that you should always keep plugging away at what you want and eventually things will come right. Don’t listen to those awful few who always have a negative attitude!

To be able to ride these amazing talented horses is just a dream come true and to have my little Fluffy there in the mornings waiting for me is just lovely!

Very cute pics. We used to have a TB called Fluffy. I've always thought it's a great name for a horse. I too am currently working for people who believe that to get the best out of staff you should be encouraging and supportive. It makes everything so much easier.

What a lovely update and very cute pair.
Just shows how important it is to work in a positive environment, so nice to hear that you found your way out of a poor work situation and into a nice one. Long may it continue.

I have been laughed at because of his name and the fact that my daughter likes to dress him in pink!
It’s so nice to work in a positive environment and be able to share opinions on all thing horsey and have someone actually listen and not discredit everything I say just to make me feel small.
