Fluid filled swelling on knee

My four year old has had a fluid filled swelling on his knee for a couple of years now. There is no heat/lameness and it doesn't bother him but it's a bit unsightly and I would like to show him.

Has anyone any advice for getting rid of it?

I think you will struggle to get rid of it after its been there so long.

Is it like a capped knee? My boy has one, it can be drained apparently but that has risks- don't mess with what causes no issue.
Failing that massage pile cream into it and tubigrip it that tends to reduce the swelling a bit.

We had a 13 year old eventer with a similar sounding issue - I put a magnetic braclet on that leg 24/7 for another injury and the knee swelling reduced significantly and stayed down - might be worth a try!
