Yesterday morning I washed my horses legs and everything was fine. I then put him in a spare empty stable whilst I emptied his. About an hour later, I got him out to put his travel boots on and noticed a lump to the outside of his knee about the size of a tennis ball. There is no heat and he is not lame. I can feel that it is fluidy, he doesn't mind me touching it and when I massage it, it becomes much smaller.
Once we had travelled home (about 3 hours) it had gone down to about the size of a golf ball, so I put him out in the hope that the movement would cause it to come down.
When I checked him today it was still the size of a golf ball, but still there is no heat, it doesn't hurt him and he's not lame.
Does anybody know what this may be? I can get photos if need be! My plan at the moment is to give him a few days off and massage it every day in the hope it will go down. If not I will take him to the vets after the weekend.
Thank you!
