Fly bonnets - help or hindrance

I would like to get a fly bonnet for my horse for when we are schooling outside or hacking. I am just slightly concerned he may spook more as this will muffle his hearing slightly. I think he relys slightly more on his hearing as he has a cataract on one eye and therefore reduced vision. What do you lot think, he will be more spooky or make no difference? PS he does spook at dogs barking etc when they are on the side of his cataract.

you can get them without ears I think Mark Todd does one. Interested about your horses cataract, has it developed while you have had him or is it something he came to you with.

I knew he had it when I brought him. Hes still a great horse!!!
