My poor Murphy has got a really nasty bout of conjuctivitis. Vet has been and he is on bute and eye cream for a few days, and is already looking much better after 1 day of treatment.

He has been confined to his stable since Saturday and I'd really like to turn him out again in the next few days, so i want to get him a fly mask to wear until it completely clears up, and until all the other ponies are clear of it (most of the ponies in his field seem to have it).

Soooo...please could I have recommendations of good, but relatively cheap fly masks?
Thank you :)

I have an equillibrium fly mask and it's brill - after getting it I dont like to use my other one!
I fits really well, is made of nice material, it gives the eyes and eyelashes lots of clearance, and has ajustanble velcro behind the ears aswel as under the jaw. They are a bit pricy, mine was £25 with ears but no nose, I think the ones without ears are £20 and with ears and nose is £30 but they are well worth it, my thoughts are that my pony has to wear it for 12 hours a day in the summer she may aswel have the best one :)

One of mine has the equilibrium fly mask, the other one has a cashel fly mask. Both of them are a similar price but I prefer the cashel one. Good quality materials and fits much better.

Deffo Cashel Crusader - mine is a thug and have had to repair his over the season but much much tougher than any others I have seen with excellent eyelash clearance. He loves his - always puts head down in the field to have it on. You can get with or without ears and with or without nose. Nose very good for pink noses. I also have their quiet ride mask - much finer, but again, very good.

I have both equilibrium and cashel and like both but personally I prefer the cashel crusader as it give slightly wider nose coverage.
I use mine more for sunburn than flies though. Had cashel ones for four years and bought an equilibrium this year (as a spare although I have 2 others!). Equilibrium has 2 straps under the chin whereas Cashel has one so she's never got the equilibrium off but having said that she's hardly worn it in comparison to the cashel one's, and she's kept them on the most of the time.

i dont know the brand but a friend at my yard has a lycra sleeve which can be adjusted up and down the horses face to give more or less coverage and coverage, its skintight without suffocating so leaves no gaps at all and has no itchy seams or bulky edges, have been trying to find one but they seem to be quite rare
