Please recommend me a fly mask for my 2yo WB*TB 15.1hh horse. The flys at the new field are terrible and his eyes are really running; there was more than 15 on one eye earlier.

He is caked in homemade fly spray and shop bought but doesnt seem to be helping.

Need one that doesnt rub with long term use!?

Any ideas?

Thanks :D

I've had a shires one with ears for three years now- washes well and is practically as good as new, and has never rubbed.

On the other hand, I bought her a new Mark Todd one at Badminton, because I thought it was time she had a new one, and it rubbed her nose within two days of wearing- she's back in the old shires one now!!

premier equine full face ones. All my lot wear them & havent had a rub on any in 2yrs. They have even survived being chewed by the foals (whilst still on each other!)

yup tried the rambo ones too & still have them, lol! They only rubbed the veteran under his chin where the edge of the velcro lies, but not sure if this was because he was inbetween sizes so had to wear a smaller one leaving the velcro exposed. Didnt have any probs with the others, but pink noses have converted me to full face ones!

oh if only i didnt have to worry about pink noses!
hmm... not sure which id go for without the nose as the PE ones dont have ears. The only advantage i can see with the PE is that the mesh is softer, but then again i like ears in mine! Reckon its a personal preference, if you really want ears go for the rambo one, as it is good fly mask & mine def took some hammer so will survive with a youngster. But if your not fussed about ears go for the PE! Sorry waffling & not really being helpful! lol!
