Fly Masks and ERU - how long can they be worn?

My mare has been diagnosed with Equine REcurrent Uveitis. She has limited sight left in one eye and the vet says she has "changes" in her other eye. I have spoken to people who recommend using a fly mask to guard her eyes against sunlight and wind. She lives out 24/7 and is unhappy being stabled. Can she wear an eye mask permanently during windy weather - bearing in mind she has limited vision as it is?

My little pony has Glacouma (probably misspelt) and she has to wear a fly mask all the time even in the dark and she is fine with this. They, however, don't stop a lot of the wind but the Guardian mask has extra protection for the wind. Good luck.

My pony has servere sweet-itch and wears a mask 24/7 for the entire midge seadon. The only time it caused a problem was when he got an eye infection and it was pussing, as it stuck to the mask. So it was a lot of mesh scrubing, as he couldnt have it off

Cairo wears his mask 24 x 7 from May to October with no problems and on sunny days in winter. I use the crusader mask and won't use anything else - fits beautifully, has never rubbed him and has UV protection. I get the ones with the ear and nose covers - no messing with suncream too.

He only has one eye and has had numerous operations on the other so we are not sure how good his vision is. Mask has not had any effect in that respect.

I have the crusader one with ears and nose cover, but if I put it on snugly merlin can get rubbed under the jaw, if its on loosely he rubs it off in the field, and it takes ages to find!!! 10 acres is a lot of searching.... also the fox chewed one of them up.
