Hi, can anyone recommend a fly mask please? One which will help with windy weather.
My horse has very sensitive eyes. The vet has been out numerous times & found nothing wrong.
We've eliminated UV so it doesn't have to have a high protection against that.
We've put it down to winter when it's cold & windy, normally in summer we have no problems at all.
I've tried a couple with fine mesh but they don't sit right around her eyes. I've also tried "bug eye" ones but they haven't helped either!
Thanks

Equivisor Recovery mask which is a hardish plastic mask or guardian mask might do the trick. They are expensive unless you happen upon one 2nd hand.

Edit just to add: My recovery mask is currently out on loan to another livery whose horses eye issue was upset again with the recent gale force wind and the scratching on top of that due to the irritation. Its a really usueful thing as it can be worn 24/7 without the worry of eye poking.

Lycra ‘racing hoods’ with huge mesh bug eyes, and ears. Fit snug around the head, nothing for the wind to get hold of, although probably determined rubbing could dislodge them. Premier equine do one, with or without a nose extension, also various other brands. Rinse out in clean water every day, dry almost instantly but useable while wet.
