I had a horse react badly to a pour on systemic fly repellent many years ago and haven't used one since. My mare is reacting very badly to fly bites though - she has a combination of big lumps and smaller lumpy rashes and occasionally puffy eyes. She wears a fly mask and rug but I don't want to leave those on all the time and obviously they don't protect all of her. What systemic repellents have people used successfully? I just read a post from ycbm about Spotinor causing a reaction in a horse at second application - ideally I'd like to go for something that's been well tested in horses and I'd like to know the best places to buy. TIA!
