Does anybody have that receipe for the home-made fly repellent??

I can recall it having vinegar and something citrus in it, but not sure on the rest and quantities.

Thanks

Lizzie.

well i use to buy a bottle of neat citronella from chemist and dilute in a lrg bottle of water or i know someone who uses brown vinegar

I start with stewing teabags, letting them go cold, then add eucalyptus oil(about 8 drops),citronella(same) and teatree oil(same).......I then add white vinegar and a drop of washing up liquid......I use 4 teabags when stewing them......this makes 1 litre, and I use 1 litre plastic milk cartons to store then pour into a old fly spray bottle......have to say this is effective! Hope that helped!

PS:- test patch an area first,I use this on my cob and a senstive type skinned TB...both fine!

I make up as I need.......once you have all the ingredients,it works out really cheap......I throw away what I did not use end of Summer(Could keep for up to a year!).....so at the mo, my Kitchen is a Fly factory production line...as make for other people too!

Could use it on humans.....as when spraying the TB most lands on me.....and there is certainly no flies on me!

We used to use Avon Skin So Soft bath oil as the base of the fly spray (before we lost our Avon lady!!)
