I have a 15.3 ISH who is very sensitive to flies. He is not good to clip either so I think he has very sensitive skin. I use a strong fly repellent and ride in a fly masks which helps but have seen some fly rugs that you can ride in, just wondering is anyone rides in them? what is the best one to buy? I think the flies are worse than ever this year due to the mild winter!

Thanks In advance

I've just bought an Amigo Fly-rider. Brilliant rug. Very lightweight and causes no extra sweating up. Neck attaches to headpiece on bridle and is detachable from the main body of the rug. Fits beneath saddle flaps and has a cracking long tail flap. Pretty decent price at c£45 imo.

I really want to Robinsons hi viz excise fly sheet but its been out of stock for months! they have one in my local shop, but its the pony sized one! I can see it in an advert of the side of my screen at the moment but each time I check its out of stock!

And another vote for the Amigo fly rider! My mum's horse is very sensitive to flies, he only wears the back part of the rug but it's been fantastic for him. Well worth buying!

Our new boy came with a Zebra striped ride on rug - it is amazing! The flys dont even bother pitching - not sure if it is the colour or not but if your happy to pretend your on the African Plains riding a Zebra then get one!

fly rigs??? lol

I looked at the amigo one and didn't like it as much as the HKM one as it was thicker and did not like how far up the girth area, compare both you will see amigo one comes up under the saddle flap so flies round the girth area would still annoy him. The HKM one comes less up the horses side so if you have a horse like mine who gets silly with flies round his girth.

I have just received my new fly rug to ride on, one of my liveries have this one and I like it a lot , its lightweight so they don't sweat, fits great. Here ya go used it yesterday the same day I received it and my boy was much happier in it as well as his cashel ride on fly hood.>>> great rug>>>>> I got white BTW>>>http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/380824195...49&var=650202417944&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

also you can attach the neck cover to the bridle

ok thanks that looks good and a cheap price too!

I have the Gee Tac one. Used it for the first time today and was very impressed! Fit was good, covers her belly well and first hack out in the last 6 weeks where she wasn't bothered at all!
