Fly rug problems :s

my pony keeps taking off his fly rug in the field, i have tried tightening the straps, but i dont want to make them too tight, and he gets sweet itch without it, and rubs all his neck sore.

What make of fly rug, and how does he remove it?

its a cottage craft rug, and he seems to slip it over his head, as the front buckles are always done up, but one of the belly straps (dont know what theyre called lol ) is always undone, sometimes both of them are .

Some of the fly rugs are quite coarse so maybe he doesn't like the feel of it. Can you borrow a different style from someone and try it to see if it's just this rug he doesn't like, or all fly rugs?

Does he get other rugs off too? Maybe look on ebay and try to buy a second hand boett, which I think would be virtually impossible for him to take off
