Thinking of investing in a fly rug. Horse is a chunky wide cob. He has mark todd turnouts which fit well.

Any recommendations? ? Ones to avoid?

Thanks in advance

Stick with Mark Todd, their fly sheets fit well, have a good sized belly flap, tail & neck cover. My horses have obe each & they've been wearing them for about 3 seasons without any issues. :)

I've just picked up a mark todd fly rug and I'm quite disappointed on the chest fitting! I thought it was be big like their turn outs but its still pretty narrow! my boy has a fair sized chest but he's not a chunky cob, so I'd probably get the next size up

but all the fly rugs I've seem have pretty rubbish chest width

I recently asked a similar question on here after struggling to find a fly rug to fit a cob - the main recommendations were shires / weatherbeeta / mark todd. Surprisingly neither the mark todd or shires fitted (was sure one of them would!), didn't get around to trying a weatherbeeta but then impulse bought an Amigo Bug Rug XL in a sale online, it arrived yesterday and fits her beautifully!! Definitely worth a try.
