Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone could help me with a fly rug suggestion. My pony is 13hh and takes a 5ft6 rug but she is a cob type and is very thick set in the neck (slightly more at the moment as she has put on weight

). I have tried the amigo rug and derby house's own version, also tried masta last year and none of them fit round her neck

The mark todd design from last year does fit round her neck but seems to rub her shoulder. So does anyone know of any fly rugs that are particularly chunky in the neck? Thanks!

I know its not quite what your after, but I use a Weatherbeeta Koolcoat on my Welsh D. He's rather a chunky chap too and I also have trouble with necks, but its REALLY generous, also it helps to keep them cool, stops coat bleaching and does keep the flies off too.

Hope that helps.

Our 13.3 chunky section C takes a 5'3" cuddly ponies fly rug fine. His other rugs are all 5'6", and he does have a very solid neck.

Thanks very much, will look at the cuddly ponies one.

Maybe the weatherbeeta fly rug will be a generous fit if their koolcoat is?

Yeah, weatherbeeta rugs are generous, the majority of my rugs are weatherbeeta. I find they are the best fit for my Section D, and not too expensive.
