Yep. Flies are dreadful already where I am. My yard is set in the woods, streams and lakes all over the place. At the moment the horses just hay their fly masks on and half a bottle of fly repellant each morning, but it wont be long before the fly rugs are on
Yes, both of mine have them on, as do the others at the yard. They've been wearing them for a few weeks now as it's been dry & quite warm for a month or so & the midges/flys seem to be active earlier this year due to the good weather.
got mine a new fly mask at the weekend he has been wearing it since. The flies at my yard are not too bad, we have got fields that are on a hill with no water around so its still quite breezy, although last night one of the horses was going mad with the flies so the rugs will come out soon.
Oh yes, for sure. The fly rug isn't needed during the day, but those mozzies are out in force during the evening. For daywear, she is wearing her full face fly mask, mainly for nose protection as it gets burnt.
Nope, have seen the odd cloud of midges by our little woods but otherwise we are still mostly fly-free. We live near the top of a hill though so the fields are pretty open and there's a good breeze most of the time. Don't usually need fly rugs until the end of summer.
