Any recommendations?
I need a 6'9 soft one as my horse is built uphill and every rug I have ever tried rubs him so looking for something soft and which stays in place.
He gets terrible bleaching so hoping to avoid that this year. I bought a premier Equine one but that rubbed and it was mesh.

Have a look at the eczema sheet by Pagony. It is bascially an imitation boett. I bought one for my boy - he doesn't have sweet itch, but liked the idea of covering him totally. It is a lovely rug, doesn't rub or move about and he seems very happy in it. They are only £50 too!! If you want to know where I go mine, pm me and I will let youhave the web address

I had one of those last year it feels like plastic mesh? but rubbed him on his shoulders. He is such a pain in the neck to rug as he cannot go near a NZ without shoulder protectors on as they tend to walk around a fair bit hence rubbed shoulders.

I've just come back from purchasing an Amigo Bug Rug for my big bay boy . It was recommended to me by a couple of friends who have used them before . It has shoulder protection and a removable neck piece and seems to be quite soft . Hope he likes it more than his last one ( ripped and shredded in 5 days ! )

Have a look on the Tesco Extra website. They do a fan fly rug. All soft and all of the eg straps have elastic attachments. I bought a very expensive one last year which ripped after a week. Bought my Tesco one in a panic as I could not turn my horse out without one and have just ordered another for this year too. Even though last years is still in good nick, you just never know when they will stop selling them. I bought a few things from them and to say I was pleasantly surprised by the quality is a bit of an understatement. I'm usually a bit f a sucker for a horsey name but not this time!
Good luck.

My friend has a 17.2hh warmblood who is awkward to fit. She got him an Olympian rug for about £40 and loves it. Its soft has a bit that stretches like Mastas flexi neck and its on its 2nd summer.

I always but horseware rugs now but i HAVE A TESCOS FLY SHEET THAT IS ON ITS SECOND SUMMER AND IT WASHED UP LIKE NEW!!

THis thread has just made me think (not always a good idea at this time on a Sunday, but there you go!)

Do you think one of the pale coloured fly rugs would help stop my big black horse getting so overheated in the sun? (he does have shade but refuses to stand in it - would much rather stand in the sun and sweat. Strange boy!)

Ermmm tesco extra?? Help!! Where is it? - Can't find it!!

lec - I am considering purchasing the Amigo Bug Rug as the Amigo lightweight I have is FAB!!

I'm concerned that the 'little tiny' flies will get in though

If you got a white one it might help. My horse has a Boett rug - and even just wearing the rugs seems to have a shading effect (oddly)...

You should try it
