This may sound silly, but I was wondering whether fly Sheets can be left on when it is raining. Thundery downpours are forecast and it is hot and humid atm. I have a Shires fly sheet which is not waterproof. Any thoughts on the matter would be most helpful.

I just put mine on and it is raining, not heavy but horses wont die and rug dries off quickly. Depends on the heavyness of the rain, if downpour then i don't put them onbut on and on and off drizzle I do as flies come out between the rain.

Mine stays on regardless - after the rain is the worst time for the flies!
They dry off pretty quick I've found and doesn't do harm for them to have a damp thin rug on

I've got an itcher too, and he has a waterproof one as well as normal ones (the waterproof one is too hot normally). So it's the dance of the rugs this weekend again - the normal ones get cold and wet and heavy in anything other than light rain

I just chuck a rain sheet on on top of the fly rug. It's not so hot here. If the rains not too heavy I just leave them in the fly rugs; they dry off.
