Fly spray ideas ???

My horse is severely itchy and really suffering with the flys already to the point he's rubbing himself bald , can somebody please suggest a product that can help stop/ help this ? Thanks

This works really well

Fly Repellant Mix
15ml Citronella
2 Tbs Meths
1 Tbs Dishwashing Liquid
4 Tbs Vinegar
250ml strong Black tea
Add to 2 ltrs Water
Store in a Spray bottle

Fairy Liquid will do - it emulsifies the Citronella Oil so that it will mix well with the rest of the ingresients.

If you want to buy a ready made product then make sure it has Deet in it. This is the stuff that makes all the difference. Naf do one.

Goodness if he is being pestered already, what is he going to be like in summer, by the way there are no flys here yet Have a look on a site called stop it all karen ruggles she does products of neem oil which work really well for itching/flys i use it on my pony with sweetitch.

I use this one which I got off this forum a few years ago. Always works for my lot and elaves a wonderful shine on their coats.
250ml Avon Skin So Soft Bath Oil
1 capful Dettol
1 teaspoon Citronella oil
1 " Eucalyptus Oil
1 " Teatree oil
1 " Lavendar oil

Put in a 1 litre spray bottle and top up with water. Shake well before using to mix up all the oils. Smells good too!!
