Recommendations, best home made recipes?

I have tried a couple but none that seem to make a difference.. in fact one that seemed to make it worse!

Citronella oil from the health food shop. A few drops mixed into a spray bottle with water nothing else works a treat. Never put anything else in it.

I the "stable yard" one of the stickys it give you people's home made fly sprays. I made one up last year, it included dettol and some drops of oil. It's brilliant and works so much better than the expensive shop ones

I recently won some of the tri Tec spray (wouldn't normally buy something that expensive) but it really works! Definitely recommend and will be buying more when it runs out, plus it's a bonus only having to put it on once a week/fortnight. :)

Only one I find that works is coopers fly repellant plus, you can get it for £20 delivered now, and when others are costing close to that and don't work! It's a no brainer to me! plus you only have to apply it to the areas mainly affected and only every 2 to 4 days depending on severity of the flies.

Avon Skin So Soft dry oil, has citronella in and is good enough for the armed forces, our TB was rearing because of flies, used avon sss and took him out, he was fly free, I was mobbed.
I used it while poo picking, riding, mucking out, anywhere there were flies, no probs, I have yet to find anything better

I second coopers. I just brought my first bottle and it is a definate improvement. I found it for £20 in a local shop so it's only a bit more than regular sprays
