As title says really. Things have got to a level where I am definately calling the tunes with Fly (or at least he thinks I am) but have noticed that the better he gets with me the worse he is with other horses. When on hacks he puts his ears back and threatens other horses and they do seem quite nervous of him. I have to be on my guard or he will "show" his hindquarters to other horses on a hack and generally make them unsure of him. He is kept at home with my 2 yo and of course he is boss but when I had 4 horses here and he was the newbie he was third in the pecking order and very respectful. Would be interested in peoples views. By the way, I honestly don't let him misbehave when out but he is so goddamn athletic that he can shift in a micro-second!

could you have some more horses back for a while to teach him he's not the dominant animal he seems to think he is at the moment? sounds like he needs some socialising...

Yep, got 2 coming on livery soon but am a bit worried about putting him in with them to be honest. (can you imagine it, opps sorry Fly kicked your horse! or just as bad him getting hurt). As soon as I sort one thing out with him another "issue" comes along!!

I think its all part and parcel of having Fly. My god, talk about high maintenance! When hes good hes brilliant, when hes not in the mood just forget it and go home. Such a talented horse but with his temprement - well, no wonder most people won't put up with it. To be honest I would not sell him as he would be sold on and on. Actually, I wouldn't anyway coz i love him!

Shame you can't borrow my Dougal as he is built like a brick s.......... and is dominant in the field as well. He would certainly help to knock Fly down in the pecking order a bit for you.
