So today I gave my horse a bit of a jump ... More of a schooling exercise than anything else. We just had a few cross poles set up round the school working on canter quality and strides, the problem I had was not with her jumping or canter but when asked for a change across the diagonal ( horse is well established with changes)
When asked she stopped dead and reared , so I carried on with my exercise and asked again she did the same thing again .
She's sound and was more than willing to jump etc just reluctant to change when asked , after jumps 9 times out of 10 she will land on the correct leg anyway , so I was just having a play whilst schooling ....
Just a bit miffed as this has never happened before
Any thoughts welcome
