Coming from someone who isn't a fan of cobs...

Couldn't help but post these photos they are just hilarious! This is Fiona a 4yo cobbie at my work and one day we discovered she can jump! She could easily go higher but don;t want to overface her because she's so lovely and willing but she has the whole yard cracking up. I know some people with WBs wishing their horses had that technique!! :p

Love her! :L Share your photos of your flying cobs :p

She might even go out and do a bit of senior BS! Oh I love her and I normally don't like mares. Must stop getting attached to horses that are for sale, my favourite little guy goes to his new home tomorrow :(

There's always my alternative - buy them  To be fair though, I did get myself 2 very nice mares!

This is my flying cobby:

This is my daughter on her fab 14.2 flying a novice XC fence at Stilemans and a 'small' showjump. Best pony ever and he's gone on to another 2 pony club homes and is still competing with a lovely lady now at 17.

What an absolute star! that's really impressive for a 4yo I think, my boy is 6 now and we've only just started conquering uprights, doubles and bounces. Haven't braved a wee spread as yet :D

Not sure if you can see this but this is my flying coblet (unfortunately not me on board, this was the girl who rode him during a week camp at our yard) this was early jumping efforts where he would take them from waaaay further back than needed and give it extra oomph because he really wasn't sure how big it actually was... after all you never know until you get right up close whether it's going to be a giant jump do you! ;)

Mine flies too - though I prefer not to. Found she has quite a pop when she leapt out of her field over a 5 bar gate wearing a rug... The farrier who was shoeing my friends TB was gobsmacked...as was my other friend who was walking up the track and saw it -she was easily 6" above the gate !! She came trotting up to me in the yard like she was just the thing !

Whay-hay! Love flying cobs. My old boy used to clear everything by at least a foot in case it bit his belly but have no pictures unfortunately. A friend's cob cleared the field fence by a foot the first time she encountered the donkeys at the yard. There are no rules to say cobs can't be fit and athletic.

Any excuse, posted many times before - heres our hw last year. She too jumped a 6 bar gate from trot. My D never got to see how high she would go.

I love cobs!!!!!

Magicmillbroke, I love your HW. I have one too, and if he turns out to be half as gorgeous and talented as your mare, I'll be happy :)

OP, not sure why a cob jumping would make you laugh so hysterically but I am sure you were saying it tongue-in-cheek ;-)

Cobs rule!! Don't have any photos I can upload of my mare yet but at 6yo she is easily clearing 1m and when I have got the flatwork at bit more polished am hoping to get out next year doing workers.

aww this makes me so happy to see, my old cob 15.1 loved to jump infact he lived for it he thought nothing of jumping 4ft and incredibly brave, i remember been out hunting on him and having the lead the hunt master over a gate. i was only about 15, He's how 26 and has a much quieter life but these pics do bring back great memories for me. GO COBS!!!! i LOVE EM
