Took Hattie to a local hunter trial today. She wasn't very well a month ago so I wasn't sure how fit she is so just went to plod round the 2ft6 as it is a new course and I want to do their ODE next month.
The course was timed from start to finish.
We weren't told the optimum time but were told the course was 430mpm, so I didn't think I would make the time.
Hattie was feeling very well and fit, but I didn't push her. she has a wonderful ground covering canter but is slow over her fences (there is a lot of cob to lug over jumps :p).
I did find a short cut over some rough ground that saved about 20secs, but it meant I caught up with the rider in front of me. I did shout but I don't think she heard me. I had to really hold hard at fence 17 as I was practically on top of her. Luckily the fence judges at 18 asked her to let me by.
I was shocked to find out that I had a time of 4.41, the OT was 5.13:eek:
I think it must of been my short cut, I will have to remember that next time.:o

I was so pleased with my little coblet today she was flying.
