hi. i was wondering if anyone could tell me about flying horses to the USA.
how much does it cost per horse? how many horses to a crate? what are the restrictions with regards to me travelling with them? - quarentine periods - for mares, geldings and stallions - all competition horses..... any info would be fantastic - thank you!!!

was quoted £5000 for mum's mare from dorset to Kansas because as a mare she had to be quarantined for 3 weeks. Her gelding was £2500 as less time in quarantine

Only thing i know, is i don't think you're aloud to travel with them!!
But the team that do, are obviously VERY experianced horsemen, including a vet!

Usually you're not allowed to travel with them although I almost got to travel with PF because I know someone who works at the company she almost flew with... Would've been soooooo interesting!!

average cost about £3000, depends on wether they have full load or not amongst other things. Horses not always crated though that is more usual these day and then with a grown horse one in each air stable, foals might share though get own compartment.
you are generally not allowed to travel with them, even when the team horses are flown out the air grooms are in charge though the team grooms most likely are there. there is always a vet in atttendance.
quarantine depends where you have come from and where you are going. for normal horse expect 21 days but some may be on this side of the pond if you can get into a vet approved yard. The restrictions may be longer for breeding stock who as well as the reguar paper work need to be swabbed free of EVH etc..
